Latest offerings on the continuing Silver Tower saga, the Warpriest (& hound) and the Dark Elf Sorceress:

In a bit of a funk painting the Gaunt Summoner so I'm considering taking a break from Silver Tower to concentrate on the Beast PAL. I've got an Arse Cannon (& crew...) to do before the end of the month... :P

Nice work, I love the Gryfhound!

These seem to be taking forever, but I am painting! I've missed my end of March deadline, but hope I'll finish em up at the weekend. Just highlights on the white, parchment and metals to go. Crappy pic, sorry...

Oh yeah, and I'm trying to get that old WH:Q wardancer in the background done at the same time!

Stunning as those sigmarines may be, it was the wardancer that really caught my eye!

He was for the citadel PAL that I never finished. He's getting quite close, might have a final push!

You could probably add some transitional colors.

I did a bit of a speed-paint on a pair of Nolzur's gargoyles I picked up. They're not great figures and smaller than I'd expect based on the Monster Manual, but they are cheap.

So...what do you think of that model?

Man, I wish those gargoyles were just a touch more nicely sculpted... they're awfully close to a unit I've wanted to put together for a while now.

edit- oh after googling, it looks like there are only two poses anyway, so that would be limiting. Looks good enough though, esp for speedy painting :)

I like that little tiger gryphon doggie thing, connexion :)

And do post those sigmar dudes when they're done, countersunk, I'd be curious to how you finish them up. (and yes, war dancer! :) )

Holy crap connexion, that is going to be... bold :D

I'll get to the wardancer ASAP, promise!

Finished up the unit, again sorry for the bad phone pic. I do love MicroSet/Sol for transfers, makes such a difference.

Did I say... Gaunt Summoner? :)

Done. Finished. Finito. I hate painting plastics but, damn, loved painting this model.

This wraps up Phase I of my Silver Tower project and I now have all the necessary models to play a few games (a few heroes, all the adversaries from the box set and some flamers). Phase II will see the painting of the remaining exotic adversaries (screamers, exhalted flamer and herald) and Phase III the remaining heroes (will take some time though...).

The full set can be seen at http://imgur.com/a/C74cY

What they said! I've had a qoatl model in the drawer of woe for a long time now; always fancied some multicolored madness along those lines, but I'd only thought of striping the feathers by row, not multiple rows of color per feather. Thats delightful :froth:

Vallejo Model Colour verdigris glaze. I think that indeed it has a certain fluorescent quality to it.

Blackfoot: if the Coatl model you mention is the old GW classic (I had only a body somewhere and it vanished!) I'd go for something either like your original sugestion (rows of feathers) rather than striped feathers ( would make the model too confusing, methinks). Something in between might be even better (first row gore red, vermilion, orange; second row vermilion, orange, yellow; etc) sometimes with 1 colour per feather, sometimes 2, 3 on the tips (biggest feathers). Think about it, heh? ;)

Making a long story short, a couple of years ago i developed a fixation on that colour but it only existed as glaze (the VGC verdigris is not as bright) and experimentation ensued. It's great for robes and spectral effects - check my paint log for a couple of examples (the wraith, the sylph and the dark elf wizard on cold one). Also for painting tree lichen.

Dude! :froth: that looks 1) awesome 2) like a hell of a lot of fun. :)

I was considering these before, mostly as a lark and for pure fun factor, as they are admittedly silly by some standards ( and I have no reasonable use for them). My consideration of them increases. 8)

Too bad about the harness bits. If they were totally wild looking and unfettered, I think they'd be a for-sure instead of a maybe. Oh well. :beardy:
