Community paint-a-long: Vehicle (May-July)

Postby mcfonz » Sat May 14, 2016 9:56 pm

It's time once again some more thematic long running Paint A Longs for our wild artistic interpretations to be exacted upon!

Our next 3-month theme will be : Vehicle

It starts now, yes, just then! No, not now, this now is several nows later than then, so you know, just pick up that brush and get going! :D

Again, designed to be pretty open to interpretation, some suggestions from the oracle that is at the shed;

- Tank
- Wheeled
- Tracked
- Drawn
- Airborne
- Magic-propelled (flying carpet anyone?)

Or anything else your crazy minds throw down at it!! Now get going!

Or for your fantasy/historical types:

- Chariot
- Elephant/Dinosaur/Spider with howdah
- Palanquin?
Brave you all!
What a superb game this is and will become, my prediction was weak and we will be many more.
Thank you all and see you again here, in breathing life, never where popular opinion dies

Nice, those would work brilliantly well. Blowers or grave or propulsion . . . . .

The composition has loads of character and it will probably look fantastic when painted.

Command tank (God Botherer) finished along with the standard wagons so now just need a bunch of infantry on foot

Image

And these count as vehicles right?

Great 'vehicles', Soldado! Here is my entry, generally useful for scenarios and objective driven gaming.

Love the rusted out cars Soldado, are they bases for something flying?

Cart looks great Fez.

Mr Tough Guy the bases are for my Dropzone Commander Flyers.

Still need to finish the flyers themselves

Might actually crack out the post apoc cars again for this. Does it run till the end of July? Also should it be stickied now that it's the current PAL?

That cart is lovely Fez.
The wreck bases for those flyers are spot on too!

I've just salvaged a 2nd hand land raider from a gloopy superglue encrusted cocoon, so I'll try to bash that out before end of next month...

Well, you can't see it on the picture but I modelled an incredibly detailed magic suspension system underneath the carriage, and painted all kinds of breathtaking OSL magic effects on it, so it'll be just fine on rough terrain! Promise!

Re: the heads, yeah they are big. I thought that maybe they are supposed to be ponies or some dark age race? They are pretty furry too. But to be honest I wouldn't recommend this set (from Gripping Beast) anyway. Rough sculpts and rough casts.

Still I'm happy that it's done, it will look OK on the tabletop and didn't take me ages to paint up.

Thanks for the comments!

And a Maultier truck for the opposition, this ones pretty much finished, I'll see if I can be bothered doing the fiddly bits later.
