Community Paint-a-Long (Ends May): Light

Postby mcfonz » Mon Mar 09, 2015 1:13 am

The second community paint a long of the year. Having stormed your way through the Elite titled PaL this time sees the title of "Light".

As with before, there is no limit or restriction to how you wish to interpret the title. Any scale, any genre - it is all purely about getting those paintbrushes out and getting some miniatures painted.

Some examples of how you may wish to interpret this PaL - Gandelf the White, OSL etc.

So pick up those brushes and get a colouring! :D

Might be another chance to attempt OSL for me...

So yeah a step by step (seperate to this thread - worth a sticky?) would be excellent.

The problem with this is you all paint like Michelangelo and I paint like a concussed walrus on crack. I hope any amateur entry I make will only be given small amounts of sniggering and jest !

No problem at all. It's not a contest, just a communal project to keep people motivated and interested. If you're enjoying yourself, you're doing it right. :beardy:

I'm pretty sure that a lot of people of the time thought Michelangelo behaved like a concussed walrus on crack . . . . .

What Blackfly said. Have some fun, slap down some paint, learn and share and generally threaten to poke out the eyes of anyone who can paint so well it makes you cry.

I have old paint brushes I have been keeping, and sharpening just for that very occasion . . . . :drunk:

I had to sort of retro-paint the lantern barer - it's a not very good phone photo as the camera batteries are recharging. It's actually quite hard to photo due to the light bouncing of the lighter areas more making it look like glare . . .

Not sure if it's any good though. And I have no idea how to approach the actual light-source.

you get props for being the only entry here, McFonz, even if you're not sure what to do about the light source. :)

I will get around to doing a "new" entry for this as soon as I can (slowly catching up with the PaLs) but in the meantime tis is probably the best thing I've done with light

A couple of members for the Frostgrave gang I'm working on. I decided they would work with a bit of bish bosh OSL.
