Community Paint-a-long 4 (Jan15) : Anything goes!

Postby mcfonz » Wed Dec 10, 2014 4:31 pm

The festive season is normally bit of a struggle for most of us at the best of times, even if it's just juggling how you are going to fit in seeing various family members, some of whom you want to, some whom you have to, and some whom you probably rather wouldn't. It can be a bit of a paint brush blocker.

So with that in mind this one is going to be short and sweet. It's approaching the end of the year, have a look at those unfinished miniatures, the ones you were merrily painting away before being distracted by something and have since moved onto something else. Or perhaps that single miniature you just hadn't got around to yet.

Time to round off the year by getting them done!

This one will run until the 4th January.

Bonus platypuses available for anyone that involves winter or Christmas as a theme - well, just because! :D

Merry Christmas everyone.

Any bonus points for throwing a hissy fit and refusing to post pictures? ;)

Thought not.

You know, I just started a little thread in the showcase section to keep track of all of the community projects. I looked at your zombie hoard again on the infantry unit project - I don't think I had caught that you had painted 66 models!

I think that has to go down as this year's biggest community achievement! So quit yer whining and get painting. You're plenty good enough to post piccies! :thumb:

Well I have painted over 250 models so far this year. I have been going for quantity over quality - got to make inroads into that lead pile some how.

Going to try and finish these two guys before the holidays:

If all goes well it should be achievable, as I'm nearly there. Maaaaaybe if I'm lucky I'll get a 3rd in, but I still have lots of prezzies to make.

I'm at about 10 minis this year, but I can't really complain, because that's 10 more than last year

Hmm, I think I should try and clear a mini or two from the part painted ones on my workbench. I'd like to clear off as many minis from my 2014 purchases as I can.

My goals are a GW Queen Khalida and a bad ass santa. Anything else is a bonus :)

Started Khalida yesterday, she's only small so all the base coats are done and the purple is shaded down. The colour scheme has been determined by the mate I'm doing it for - he got it in a job lot with some other tomb kings, and it's something I've wanted to paint for years, so he "let me" do it for him :)
