Calling The Risen done. I'm pretty happy with them overall. I still need to varnish them, but it's too damned cold to do it right now. This brings me to 92 models for the year.

Those are some neat lines on that cape. :thumb: Also a hell of a balancing act in those heels with both feet on skulls! :loopy:

Thanks. The base is designed to receive her, but the lining is all me.

As always, lots of awesome (and inspiring) work to be seen in this thread. It's really a pleasure! :-)

I've been close to inactive these past weeks but, yesterday, managed to crank out this:

Imgur Album

In a nutshell, with the new BB edition, my old (i.e., painted over 7 years ago...) Chaos Pact team needed to be upgraded with an orc renegade positional. Cue some quick hacking and gluing to convert a cheap snap-fit 40k ork boy with a couple of leftover chaos spawn bits (tail and beak to make a "claw") followed by an atempt to paint in the same style I had all those years ago. No glazes, no washes, no fancy thinner mediums, no flow aids, no sable brushes - just the good old acrylic paints and 2 inks (flesh/chestnut and black) and a pair of standard Humbrol brushes (0 and 000).

Out of curiosity, has anyone ever tried this sort of "regression"...? ;-)

Saying that the result of your hack and stick is great.

The Orc looks great.

Great stuff guys.

Iffy mobile image but I'm calling her done. So that's three of the characters down for Salute. I have started five of the 6 5-8 troopers.

I did a rush job on this one. It's one of two dragonborn from a pack of Nolzur's Magnificent Miniatures. The details are soft and the mold lines were bad, but I like the figure overall. I did a weapon swap to match one of the characters in my D&D game too. It comes armed with an axe normally.

Very nice Imp

Got another HF trooper up to speed:

Three up to that point now, three more to go. I will do the visors last, partly because I haven't decided upon a colour for them yet.

Like those troopers. I've got a pile of plastic guys from McVey on my desk that are super similar.

Finally finished off this lady from Statuesque, bringing me to 94 models for 2017. 16 days to finish six more!
