Yup, I'm taking notes on that one... ;)

Just wrapped up this baby awhile ago:

I really should get a bit of a paint rest but odds are I'll be working on the Gaunt Summoner on wednesday. Definitely taking a break tomorrow though... ;)

These two are becoming my most extensive freehand work to date. I'm fairly satisfied with it, but I may try to do the inscription better.

So...what do you think of that model?

Thanks. Looking at it now, it could use a bit of shading in the axe but can't be arsed now. Maybe later...

Some progress on the Gaunt Summoner (taking my sweet time with him), serious progress on a Slaughterpriest, experimenting shadings with the Warpriest and started 3 Flamers on a whim. Flamers took a bit over 30 mins (not counting ink drying time) to get to this stage - just VGC inks followed by quick drybrushes.

Cheers!

Thanks for the kind words guys, here are the finished flamers:

Image

As I said above, the body colours are achieved by painting/washing with inks and then doing drybrush highlights to make corrections. The flames are pretty annoying tough: orange, yellow drybrush, orange drybrush halfway, red drybrush tips, white touches. Then the teeth (drybrush or pick 'em, your call, followed by a sepia wash because I was feeling lazy) and the many eyes (black/sepia ink and a white spot). Done.

For the bases (simple as they may seem): add a touch of water+retardant to the main paint, apply a thick coat of paint (if it cracks when it dries = bonus fx), splat a couple of stripes of another colour (also with a touch of retardant mix), use brush with retardant mix to mix the 2 colours, drop a few metallic spots here and there. Done as well.

blackfly, that slayer/berserker dwarfette is a great model and your paint work is excellent! Who is the sculptor, Kev White?

It has been a while since I have painted anything but last night I finally picked up a paint brush once more. I splattered some paint on to some subway entrances I started a while back just to finish them off.

These second ones are from TTCombat and were ordered before sOOp kindly offered to send me some of his.

I will put together a threat on these kits if I get a spare 5 minutes or so later.
