[Slow Death Games] Wild In The Streets

Postby sOOp » Thu Sep 04, 2014 8:51 pm

My gaming group has been playing a gang fight game in my garage for about a year now. We've been using cardboard stand ups on bases mostly but recently I've decided to get some miniatures sculpted. The first was sculpted by Zorro and I have a few being sculpted by Matt Gubser now. I'm hoping to have one sculpted every month or two to finish the project.

Here is the first - a crust punk.

A) Nice sculpt. Makes a change from the uber developed muscles on some minis where almost every bloke has a superhero physique. Axe head looks a little soft on the big pic but fine on the smaller one. You can imagine him downing a few beers and then raising Hell. Often.

B) Your friend is a scary looking bloke. And that's before we begin a discussion about the axe.

Further to what I said early, the right arm looks sausage like as you can't see the wrist, might be better from a different angle.

the way the beard is done, would lend itself to a cartoon like paint job.

is this a feature that will be kept.... sort of GTA styles?

I Think it is silly for a sculptor to defend his work online. But in this case I think there is a slight fish eye effect going on in the first 2 pictures.

Here are some pictures I took . @sOOp I hope it is okm for me to post them. The camre was further from the mini in these cases.

@Roger: I hvae not added texture, as I think in small scale minis it is actually more realistic that way, don't know if that makes sense ..

I like it. Lots of character and something a bit different to what else is out there.

Thanks for posting those Zorro. I'm extremely happy with the sculpt and your photos are much better than mine.

I agree with this statement. I need to work on my photo skills or have a friend take the pix for me.

I'm not sure what gta style is. Google tells me greater Toronto area but I know that isn't right.

We need pics of the real one.
Just for comparison purposes, you know... :dodgy:

On a serious note, this is shaping up as a very interesting range.
And Zorro is a sculptor to keep on the radar.

This one was not sculpted by Zorro. I have two more figures currently in the works with Zorro though and hopefully I'll be able to show those soon.

She wins the heart of many an admirer....mainly by cutting them out with that fucking big knife!

Mean and hot. I like her.

Goth girl gang member...or modern vamp intent on a sacrifice to resurrect her master?
