Hungry Troll Treeman Starplayer

Sculpted by Sergio Alonso León. I think this might have been posted once before, León says it's been WIP on his desk for years. I really like it, and conveniently Hungry Troll has a US distributor now. No indication of when the model will be available. Facebook

So...what do you think of that model?

I'm not sure I like the tied on bits of wood for armour, would have preferred it to have been thickened bark or something, it looks like he is wearing parts of a relative as armour!!

Otherwise I really like it. And I agree with KfromF, there is more than a hint of Groot about him too.

The treeman version of bone armor then?

Possibly, I just don't feel it works on a treeman - who traditionally are meant to be the wardens/guardians of the forests/woods/trees - I get that it's subjective, and just how I feel about it. It's a great model.

I can live with the idea of using dead wood as armour but the robe is a no go.

Is that for PC sake so 'Its' sex organs are hidden (and yes I know trees do not have visible organs but why else would you have the robe)?

Team jersey. It's a Blood Bowl miniature, after all... ;-)

Looks way too dynamic and agile for a BB treeman which are basically logs with feet. And what's with the musculature? It's nice enough sculpting, but it doesnt feel a treeman to me?

Good points there. Maybe paint him up as a 'green man' fantasy figure rather than BB?
