Community Terrain-a-Long: Barricades

Postby mcfonz » Wed Aug 19, 2015 10:06 pm

Time to kick off another terrain-a-long - this time the word is "Barricade" as the theme. As always, feel free to interpret this in any way shape or form.

For example, you may take it literally and make barricades for gang based games such as Necromunda or Mordheim, alternatively you could go for hedges, fences walls or a collapsed passage for a dungeon.

These are just some ideas - go crazy, create/paint/complete something that is linked to the word, that is all. As big or as small as you like. A single piece or a good number of them. Any scale.

Due to the other community-a-long projects coinciding with this we'll start it off this coming weekend - Saturday 22nd August 2015 and run it until the 22nd November 2015 - just to ensure everyone has a good length of time to fit everything in!

This PAL brought to you by the letters S-K-I-P and P. 8) Complete with plenty of rampant linear obstacle puns! :beardy:

Since walls and fences were both discussed, I'm very likely going to re-purpose my previously abandoned project I'd hoped to finish for PAL:Objective, and use it here. It's already a WIP, so I'm a cheater, but it has both walls and fences, so that awesomeness hopefully lessens my disgrace. . . maybe just a little.

Finally got started on this, and going down the easiest possible route for me: ramshackle fences out of coffee stirrers. Quick to make and compatible with almost any genre - pirates, wild west, near future...

I might well have a bash, although I'm usually late to these things or I forget them...

Nice barricades, assuming shulk means make shift?

Well I made a barrier... :dodgy:

It will certainly block movement and got a couple more to do.

This PAL was the motivation I needed to get another batch of Mantic Mars Attacks scenery painted up. I might get to use these on Thursday if we run the zombie invasion for Halloween again.

Sadly there's not much of October left to get my entry done for PAL tiny.
